A Virtual World

I grew up in the 80's. The only "world" we had heard of, aside from the one we were living in, was a "Material World". Now, 20 years after Madonna sang her mantra in a pink satin Marilyn Monroe get up, I sit here at my computer as a "thirtysomething" who is teetering on the edge of of the "Virtual World".

After being in a brick and mortar retail store for over 7 years, today I closed my shop door for the last time with a key. Swimming in the "Virtual World" rather than walking on the shore is something I am very excited about. Now that 9 Months is an exclusively online retailer and consultancy, I am looking foward to extending my voice throughout the site.

One of my favorite parts about the brick and mortar was talking to expecting mom's and dad's, new parents and grandparents, and friends. Tips and tricks, heard and learned, shared and cared were the kinds of moments I had each day with various people who came through the door. And these are the kind of moments I hope this blog will bring to my readers.

I will talk about things that I like (and things I don't!), products, needs, places, tips and anything else that I find interesting and at least somewhat relavant. And it is my hope that my readers will comment and contribute. As an industry insider for over 7 years and 2 children of my own, (ages 9 and 6) I have tried, tested, and compared notes with the best of them. And them...is you all.

So get ready to read.....and comment, suggest, inform, and refer. I am excited about our future in a "Virtual World". And I hope to see you all in the real world!
